Not too common sense
People are pissed of by your comment because the case IS a race issue. This case only adds to the significant evidence towards racial disparities in the charging, sentencing, and imposition of the death penalty. This has been confirmed by the findings of many other studies that, holding all other factors constant, the single most reliable predictor of whether someone will be sentenced to death is the race of the victim. I've written about it more on my blog if you want more info :)

I do acknowledge the racial aspect of it. But all I am trying to say is to eliminate race and work together to change this from happening. Rather than sit and clash race against race and get nothing done. And it is not just about race, so everyone stop trying to make it that way. It was a case of a dead cop! Thats why they acted as they did more so than because of his race. I don’t know if hes guilty or not but lack of evidence does play a huge factor in the injustice.

Anyways, they are trying to make an example by it: Kill a cop, this is what happens. Its a fear tactic to keep people in line. In fact maybe they did choose to execute him because of his skin color. Maybe racism, or maybe a way to mask it as racial rather than the real problem, our justice system.
